Day 1 of #C045S4393CY| before midnight (PH Standard Time): cooking up docs for @HackClubLeeks with VS Code for Web (code serve-web running locally on my laptop instead of using Remote Tunnels) and GitLab CI configurations since Recap Time Squad (the org where the project is currently hosted) officially joined GitLab for Open-source program weeks ago (hence getting GitLab Ultimate for free on SaaS)

Day 1 of #C045S4393CY| - Got card grants almost fully working and added a bunch of error handling! The only thing not working currently is merchant name locking (regex). Why? Not sure! It's not working through the UI either so at least it's not my code :p

Day 1/15 of #C045S4393CY| Today(still going on) I worked on learning some more javascript so I can work on my website to add it to @Aram website combiner or smth Also working more on my python phone so there are way less random bugs that pop up, habit tracker work is still ongoing but I worked on it less today since I want to equally balance work on learning code and also working on the phone

euanripper.pythonanywhere.com i coded a logical puzzle game (slide game) and added some game modes and a daily leaderboard! the hardest mode only has one solution! this is my first ever website and i wrote all the code painstakingly myself with no templates or imported css. its written with python flask backend and sqlAlchemy

more backend based stuff but did change scrollbar and added api so now it pulls real lessons and weeks teachers have "-" tho so i dont leak their names but that does work and the extra periods and issue with code just for some reason school added extra useless periods at start and end of day

Meow, mrrow, mrow Do you get parcels from a random place called hack club and want to see what's on the way and its status? eh, maybe not. But I do, and I don't like going to the shipment viewer because it's outside slack, i need to put in my email, get a link, annoying on mobile, ugghhh. (joking, it's a great site :) ) But what if you didn't have to do that? What if... it was in Slack. Introducing @PostPuppy ! Visit the app home to see all your packages just like you would on the shipment viewer. you can even opt to get notified when the status changes. oh, and if the email you use for slack is the same that you get mail to, it'll auto sign you in! (If you use a different email, you can open settings, enter an email and get a verification link sent to you)

Today I continued working on my opengl wrapper. I'm finished with the basic window and opengl context management (cmake = pain), so today I added the ability to render textures and filled rects. The idea of this project is to allow me to do as much rendering as possible without touching any opengl boilerplate (2D at the moment, 3D is next). The test below only took 26 lines of code!

🚢 BOIDS! 🚢 Have you ever looked at birds in the sky and wondered... I wonder what the mathematical calculations for there movement were? You probably haven't but if you have, that's a real thing! It's called Boids. It's based on 3 rules (separation, cohesion, alignment) and can make some movements that look like schools of fish 🐟 or bird 🐦 movement, it can even make really satisfying timelapses! So over the last week-ish I decided to make a pygame script to simulate these Boids and create a program to see these mesmerizing patterns thats a mix between art and music! You can check out the code (and compile it yourself to run) here (give it a star maybe :p) , if you want to read more about boids, the wikipedia page is pretty good and there are a bunch of articles about it. I'll try to host a 24/7 <https://youtube.com/live/xwIw1qobiUw?feature=share|stream> for as long as possible if anyone wants to see it in action!

I spent a lot of time redoing one of my old Java CLI projects... but this time as a GUI, as I couldn't figure out how to properly convert my CLI bank account into a GUI app, or think of new features to add to my cookie clicker clone. This tested my patience the most out of any project I have built so far as I kept squashing and making bugs for what seemed to be hours, and having to go through trial and error many times as I teach myself how the Swing library works. There is still a lot of work to be done, and I have had to essentially rewrite everything from my old simple CLI program except a few switch statements for questions which had to be modified and moved what was not what I expected going into this. I am also in the process of methodizing the code from the single static block as it is a lot more versatile in CLI and necessary for GUI apps.

I finished my saycheese submission today and I went on a hike in the snow. My saycheese submission was so simple but it only just fit into the QR code, its surprisingly hard to make a plain text website in 2kb!

I worked a bit more on Codeboard and Hack RTL today, and I managed to transfer my domain to Cloudflare DNS, although my website was broken for a while 😬.

Took 37 hours but my advent of code style problems and website is finally complete! I've been releasing them over the past days of Advent, and just finished coding up the final few puzzles.

Yesterday I helped run the computer science table at our school district's middle school academy fair! talking hundreds of middle schoolers was very taxing, but it actually went great, we had a crowd around our table the entire time! I obviously advertised Hack Club a ton even though I was low on posters & flyers-- people loved the Sprig, the LED matrix (upcoming ysws 👀), the stickers, and most of all, the game! I projected my #C07MUFXNG82| pinball game onto the ceiling to draw people over & gave candy to people who could score 1000! I wanted to buy a gong with school budget that we could hit every time someone beat the high score, but even though it (shockingly) got approved it didn't arrive in time. Definitely gonna recreate this setup in the future!

Gotta start posting here! So update: Delved into webhooks, created a GitHub webhook to listen for workflow_run event's status, push status to the db and show it to the frontend table today. It worked without any hiccups in just one go, so pretty happy!

Working on planning Zephyr 2.0. I realize that this is probably just a desperate wish, but I would like to have another Zephyr. I have already begun planning it. This one would be called Zephyr 2.0. not too much again today added fade animations when selecting and deselecting, heatmap now updates in realtime, cleaned up some of the code, and updated all the npm packages without breaking the entire thing!

Messed around with variable names, added a couple of better/more readable variable names, etc. Honestly it makes the code look so much more clean. I also made sure we used an external nvs handle so we don't keep reopening it. Along with that I modified the sdkconfig so that the partitioning allows for more space. Link: github.com/dj1ch/HomeNet

Hey yaal! Did lots of work today 🙂 Lots of choir work for the concert, bioing for the bio final + a bit of math For hc work I did boba drops bts (airtable stuff) and announced that cascade is ending early 😞 + I worked with @/jps for updating the toolbox, check it out (lots of new stuff) toolbox.hackclub.com. Lastly worked with @Mohamad on launching his ysws. Tmrw I plan to work on the hack club shop + toolbox and more ysws stuff
